Mary and her husband were bequeathed 2 guineas each in the Will of George Sedgwick of Chichester, Gent. (proved 1770), Mary's uncle.

Sole executrix of her husband's Will (1798).

Named as a beneficiary in the Will of her widowed stepmother Sarah Farhill of Chichester (proved 1805), by then a widow.

Abstract of the Will of Mary Tufnell of the City of Chichester in the County of Sussex, Widow, written 27 Jun 1809, proved 2 Oct 1818.

Gives to her grandson Henry Tufnell eldest son of her late son William Tufnell her silver teapot and stand and silver soup ladle.

Gives to her esteemed friend William Brereton Esquire a silver chased side board cup which she hopes he will accept as a small remembrance.

All the rest of her plate she gives to her two sons John Charles and Samuel Joliffe Tufnell as well as her ring set round with . . . . . . . and enclosing her late brother's hair.

Leaves to Mrs John Farhill her sister[-in-law] one of her diamond broaches of which she has two to give.

Gives to her goddaughter Mary Tufnell daughter of her son John Charles Tufnell and Maria a picture of her late husband set round with pearls, and her emerald pin set round with diamonds.

Leaves to her son Samuel Joliffe Tufnell as many of her jewells and trinkets as were left to him by his aunt Maria Tufnell.

Leaves to her daughter[-in-law] Mrs William Tufnell her two largest china jars as a trifling remembrance.

All the rest and residue of her goods, linen, china, chattels and personal estate she leaves to her sons John Charles and Samuel Joliffe Tufnell, appointing them co-executors of her last will and testament.
