Abstract of the Will of Edwarde Manwaringe of Whitmore in the County of Stafford, Esquire, written 16 Aug 1604, proved 30 May 1606. 5
Wills that his body be buried in the parish church of Whitmore.
Gives & bequeaths £200 to each of his six daughters Alice, Anne, Katherine, Dorothie, Sara and Margarette.
Gives & bequeaths £200 to his son Randall Manwaringe and wills that he be apprenticed in London.
For the better performance and accomplishment of the above bequests he wills that Edward Manwaringe his son and heir apparent pay to his executors the sum of £700 which he has previously agreed in writing to pay.
Wills that if any of his said daughters or his younger son die before they receive their bequests then the same shall remain to his said son Edward Manwaringe.
Gives & bequeaths to his three daughters already married, namely Mary, Elizabeth and Jane, each a piece of gold worth 10s. to make a ring.
Wills that within a year after his decease his daughter Mary Brette receive one cow or heifer at the discretion of his wife Jane Manwaringe.
Wills that every servant still dwelling with him at the time of his death be paid whatever part of a year's wage his wife Jane and son Edward think fit.
All the residue of his goods and chattels he gives & bequeaths to his wife Jane and son Edward.
Names, constitutes and appoints his wife Jane Manwaringe, his brothers-in-law George Cradocke and Thomas Cradocke, and his son-in-law Thomas Jolley co-executors of his last will and testament.
Gives & bequeaths £50 to his son-in-law John Brette and his wife Mary.
