Abstract of the Will of John Maynwaryng of Overpever in the County of Cheshire, Knight, written Mar 1515, proved 28 Nov 1516. 3

Bequeaths 15s. to the high altar of the parish church of Badeley for forgotten tithes.

Bequeaths to Agnes Valentyne toward her marriage 5 heifers....

Bequeaths to each of his servants who will be with him at the time of his death a year's wages.

Gives & bequeaths to his bastard brother Charles Maynwaryng an annuity of 26s. 8d. from the issues and profits of his lands in the county of Chester.

Bequeaths to the parish church of Over Peover his black velvet gown garded with gold cloth for the intent of making a cape for the use of the said church.

Bequeaths to the parish church of Badeley his green velvet jacket garded with gold cloth for the intent of making a cape for the use of the said church.

Bequeaths £4 13s. 4d. to an honest priest of the parish church of Over Peover to pray for his soul and the souls of his father and mother for four years after his decease.

Bequeaths to his son Randall Maynwaryng his scarlet [gavberdyn] garded with black velvet.

Bequeaths to the wardens of the parish church of Badeley 26s. 8d.

Bequeaths £20 to the said parish church of Over Peover for the making of a new steeple and 20s. for the glassing of a window to be made in the said steeple when it is finished.

Bequeaths 300 marks to his daughter Margaret toward her marriage.

Bequeaths 200 marks to his daughter Katherine toward her marriage.

Bequeaths 6s. 8d. to Katherine Maynwaryng daughter to Rauf Maynwaryng toward her marriage.

All the rest and residue of his goods and chattels he bequeaths to his wife Kateryn.

Wills that the money owed to his cousin John Fitton by his brother William Hanford and his cousin Philipp A Legh for the moiety of John Peton's house shall be paid by his son Randall Maynwaryng and that Randall and his heirs shall have said the moiety.

Wills that his wife Kateryn shall have the manor of Badeley in the county of Chester.

Wills his manor of Over Peover to his son Randall and his heirs forever.

Wills that his younger sons Edmund, John, Pyers, Philipp, Edward, Robert, Thomas, George and Henry shall have an annuity of 5 marks.

Makes & ordains his said wife Kateryn, his son Randall and Randall Maynwaryng of Caryngham co-executors of his last will and testament.
