In 1834 Mercy Mockett was the residuary legatee of her husband's Will.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Mercy Denman, age 34, born in Alciston, and husband William Denman, age 39, born in Bolney, master blacksmith employing 1 man, were living at 45 High St., Lindfield Sussex.
At the time of the 1861 England Census Mary [sic] Denman, age 45, born in Alciston, keeps an ironmonger's shop, and husband William Denman, age 49, born in Bolney, blacksmith employing a man & an ap[prentice], were living in Ironmonger's Shop, Willingdon Sussex. With them were step-daughter Matilda Brown (21) of Alciston, nephew Edwin Mockett (21) of Selmeston, journeyman blacksmith, apprentice Adolphus Mockett (18) of Selmeston, blacksmith's ap[prentice].
At the time of the 1871 England Census Mercy Denman, age 54, born in Alciston, and husband William Denman, age 59, born in Bolney, blacksmith, were living in Willingdon Village, Willingdon Sussex.
In Sep 1880 Mercy Denman of Willingdon, widow, was the sole executrix of her late husband's Will.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Mary [sic] Denman, age 63, born in Alciston, widow, was living in Spring Villa, Willingdon. With her was sister Esther Mockett (62) of Alciston, widow.
