To the sheriff of Salop, escheator in the same county. Order to cause Fulk son of Robert le Estraunge, tenant in chief, to have again seisin of the manor of Sutton Maddok, together with everything received thence since it was taken into the king's hands, as the king learns by inquisition taken by the sheriff that Robert long before his death enfeoffed Fulk of the manor, which was taken into the king's hands by reason of Robert's death, and that Fulk had continuous and peaceful seisin thereof afterwards until the manor was taken into the king's hands by the sheriff.

Order to cause Fulk Lestrange (Extraneus) to be acquitted of 24l. exacted from him by reason the manor of Chauton, which belonged to Hamo Lestrange, late sheriff of Southampton, now in Fulk's hands, which sum Hamo owed to the exchequer for many defaults during the time he was sheriff, as the king has pardoned Fulk this sum for his good service rendered to him in Gascony.

Chalghton. The manor..., including 10a. wood within the king's forest of Porcestre held of the earl of Leicester in chief by service of a knight's fee, and a pair of gilt spurs yearly.

John his son, aged 18, is his next heir.

Salop. Inq. Thursday after the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 18 Edward II.

Wrocworthyn. The manor..., held of the king in chief by service of 1/20 knight's fee, and rendering 8l. yearly at the king's exchequer by the hands of the sheriff.
Sutton. The manor..., held of the king in chief by service of rendering 4s. yearly at the king's exchequer by the hands of the sheriff.
Corfham. The castle and Culmynton member thereof..., held for life by the courtesy of England of the inheritance of Eleanor sometime his wife, of the king in chief by service of a knight's fee.
Whitchurch (de Albo Monasterio). The manor..., held of the earl of Warenne by service of taking his venison throughout the lands &c. of the said earl in England, at the costs of the said earl. And there are payable thereout 10s. yearly to the king's manor of Aderdeleye, and a sparrowhawk or 2s.; and 6 marks to Richard de Leylonde for life from the mill of Wytechirche by the grant of the said Fulk.

Heir as above, aged 18 at the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul last.

Thornhagh. A third part of the manor..., including a pasture called Hallecroft and an aid called 'Stoth,' held by the courtesy of England of the right of Eleanor sometime his wife, of the bishop of Lincoln as of the castle of Neuwerk, by service of doing suit at the said bishop's court there.

John, son of the said Fulk and Eleanor, aged 18 and more, is their next heir.

Writ of plenius certiorari, on the complaint of Richard de Leylond that the escheator had taken into the king's hands 6 marks rent which the said Fulk had granted him for life from a mill in the manor of Whitchurch, 12 March, 17 Edward II.

Salop. Inq. Thursday after the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 18 Edward II.

Wychirche. Richard de Leylonde was seised for life of 6 marks rent from the said mill of Wychirche by the grant of the said Fulk, and continued his seisin until the death of the said Fulk. The manor and mill of Wychirche are not held of the king in chief, but of the earl of Warenne by service of taking his venison throughout all the earl's lands in England at the earl's cost.

Order to pay to Richard de la Leylond 6 marks of yearly rent from the time when the manor of Whitchirche was taken into the king's hands, and to pay him the same henceforth for so long as the manor shall remain in the escheator's hands, as the king learns by inquisition taken by the escheator that Fulk Lestraunge, deceased, granted the above rent to Richard from his mill of Whitchirche, within his manor of Whitchirche, and that Richard was seised of the rent before Fulk's death for six years, and that he continued his seisin thereof peacefully until Fulk's death...

Fulk married Eleanor Giffard, daughter of John Giffard of Brymmesfeld, Baron, and Matilda (Maud) de Clifford, Baroness Giffard, Est 1295 in Blackmore, Herefordshire, England. (Eleanor Giffard was born about 1275 in Brimsfield, Gloucester, England and died before 1323.)
