--------------------------
The source for David's birth, marriage and spouse, and the births, deaths and marriages of their children is the bible of Thomas Brown and his wife Mary Ann Comegys, used for the Rootsweb site of Cornelius Comegys, and referred to as (BIB). It is not certain, but it appears that the bible identifies the parents' birthplace as Hurlford. None of the US researchers who cite it have quoted a marriage date, which is a curious omission for a family Bible. One source quotes a death date for David in the 1830s, but he was certainly still alive in 1850.
In 1850, David Brown (60) blacksmith was at Baltimore, Baltimore Maryland with William Brown (18) blacksmith Maryland, Lilly Craig (35), Robert Craig (15), David Craig (12), all born in Scotland, Stephen Andrews (31), drover, of Virginia, Elizabeth Andrews (23) of Virginia and Thomas Andrews (1) of Maryland.
A Scots-born David Brown was naturalized in Maryland in 1837. (Murray) 2
