** Based on the evidence, Adam Jr. was not Isabella's son, since he was born at least a year before she married his father, and Isabella's first son, John Alexander, was born less than 12 months after she married Adam Cunningham Sr.. In 1890, Adam Cunningham (Jr.), age 30, married Agnes Sim in Glasgow. The marriage certificate states that the "reputed father" was Adam Cunningham, master grain miller, and mother Elizabeth Guthrie, who "subsequently married to William Faint". In the 1901 Scotland Census for Glasgow Maryhill, Adam G. Cunningham (40) of Joppa (by Coylton) in Ayrshire, coal hill clerk, was living with his wife Agnes and their adopted son Adam McLean at 592 New Keppoch Hill Rd. Note below that, in 1891 and 1901, Adam Cunningham (Sr.) was a (grain) miller, and had been working on and off as a miller since 1861. On the 1893 marriage certificate of his son John Alexander Cunningham, Adam is also referred to as a master grain miller.
