In 1775 William Michell of Penzance was named in the will of his father-in-law John Pender of Penzance as husband of John's daughter Mary.

Abstract of the Will of William Michell of the Town of Penzance in the County of Cornwall, Merchant, written 16 Oct 1781, proved 15 Feb 1782. 2
After the payment of his debts he gives the remainder of his goods, chattels, estate and effects to his friends Messrs. Richard Oxnam and John Badcock, both of the town of Penzance, in trust, to sell—except his late wife's clothing and some furniture for his children, the proceeds to pay for the maintenance and education of his sons William and John and his daughters Mary and Margaret, until they each turn twenty-one, after which the residue of his estate and effects is to be equally divided between them, except his dwelling house in Morral Lane in Penzance which he gives to his son William.
Appoints the said Richard Oxnam and John Badcock executors of his last will and testament and trustees of his children.
