In 1861, Martin Harvey (53) of Gwinear, blind, farmer of 50 acres employing 2 men, and wife Emma (36) of Gwinear, were living in Penglaze Crowan. Present were children (born in Gwinear): Martin (7), scholar, Wilmot (5), scholar, Edward (3), Wm. (2), Emma (1), father-in-law Edward Bawden (67) of Phillack, widowed, miner, and two servants.

In 1871, Martyn Harvey (64) of Gwinear, blind through explosion of powder at mine, farmer of 30 acres employing 1 labourer, and wife Emma (46) of Gwinear, were living in Polglase (Farmhouse), Crowan. Present were children (born in Gwinear): Martyn (17), Welmot (15), Edward (13), scholar, William (12), scholar, Emma (11), scholar, and born in Crowan: Jane (9), scholar, Eliza (4), scholar, lodger Margaret Ellen Hunter (15) of Camborne, dressmaker

In 1881, Martin Harvey (74) of Gwinear, blind, retired farmer, and wife Emma (56) of Gwinear, were living in Leedstown, Crowan. Present were daughters (born in Crowan): Jane (19), dressmaker, Eliza (13), scholar
