In 1771 Elizabeth Gubbs and her sister Anne Gubbs were co-executrices of the will of their brother Martin Gubbs of Penzance, who gave them his dwelling house and premises near Market Place in the town of Penzance.

Abstract of the Will of Elizabeth Gubbs of the Town of Penzance in the County of Cornwall, Spinster, written 10 Feb 1787, proved 10 Sep 1790. 2

Gives £5 to her nephew Thomas Matthews of Newlyn, to be raised out of the premises where she now lives, over and above the legacy given to him out of the same premises by his late uncle Martin Gubbs, deceased.

Gives £20 to her nephew Christopher Matthews, to be raised &c.

Gives £5 each to her two nieces Mary the wife of Philip Marrack & Anne the wife of Anthony Mouratt, to be raised &c.

Gives an annuity of £4 to her sister Isabel Matthews for life, to be raised &c.

Gives to her niece Elizabeth Matthews all her household goods & furniture.

Gives to her nephew George Matthews and to her niece the said Elizabeth Matthews all her right, title, interest and property in the premises where she now lives, appointing them co-executors of her last will and testament.
