Raymond L. Ploof, Sr.
PRENTICE, Wis. ? Raymond L. Ploof, Sr., passed away suddenly on January 5, 2008, at Marshfield Hospital following a heart attack.
He was born July 11, 1923, in Hancock, to David and Evelyn Ploof. He graduated from Hancock High School in 1941.
Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He married Julia Weir in Kansas City, Mo. on November 23, 1946. They moved to Prentice, Wis. where he operated a dairy farm and worked for the DNR.
He is survived by his wife; three children, David (Chris), Joyce Rae (Dwane) Lind, and Raymond Jr. ?Skip?; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert of Marquette; three sisters, Vivian (Ray) Frazer of Superior, Wis., Joyce (Robert) Messner of Hubbell, Barbara (Clayton) Kempen of Neenah, Wis., and Sheila (Bert) Alm of Eden, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George; and a sister, Mary Lou Olocki.
