In 1851 Caroline Trevethan, aged 30, born in Illogan Cornwall, and husband John Trevethan, aged 35, born in St. Issey Cornwall, tin & copper miner, were living in Illogan Highway, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan) Elizabeth (5), Caroline (2), John (3 mo), and (Caroline's sister) Jane (21) of Illogan, dress maker.

In 1861 Caroline Trevethan, aged 40, born in Illogan Cornwall, wife of a mine agent, was living in Highway, Illogan. With her were children (born in Illogan) Elizabeth (15), scholar, Caroline (13), scholar, and John (9), scholar.

In 1871 Caroline Trevethan, aged 49, born in Illogan Cornwall, widow, school mistress, was living in Highway, Illogan. With her were children (born in Illogan) Caroline (22), school mistress, and John (19), tin mine clerk.

ILLOGAN HIGHWAY.

DEATH AND FUNERAL.—That sad event the death of Mrs. Trevethan, mother of Mr. John Trevethan, purser, of Carn Brea mine, took place at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. Wearne) on Saturday, after a long and somewhat painful illness. Although a great sufferer Mrs. Trevethan bore it patiently, and with remarkable christian meekness, never complaining and being quite resigned to her fate. The funeral took place at Illogan Parish Churchyard on the afternoon of Tuesday, and was attended by a number of deceased's children and other relatives, as well as a lot of mine captains, clerks, pursers, etc., and the neighbours from the village. The Rev. Harry Oxland officiated. Mr. William Wales, of Redruth, carried out all the funeral arrangements in first class style. Deceased was aged 71 years.

Caroline married John Trevethan, son of Richard Trevethan and Elizabeth Gregor, in 1843 in the Redruth District, Cornwall. (John Trevethan was born in 1816 in Tredinnick, St. Issey, Cornwall, christened 13 Oct 1816 in St. Issey, Cornwall and died on 25 Jan 1869 in Illogan, Cornwall, aged 52 years.)
