Suicide of an old Man.—On Friday, an inquest was held on the body of William Saunders, of the Plough Inn, Camborne, who was found hanging to a tree in a field. When he was cut down one hand was grasping the limb of the tree on which he hung, and his feet were partially resting on the ground. The deceased was 70 years of age, and living upon his private means. During the last few days he had expressed an anxiety to do 'something for his children,' and he was rather troubled about having lost the interest of £80 or £90 by having drawn the sum without giving notice. A witness deposed that on Friday morning he saw a man standing upright in the ditch of a field through which he had to pass. He was hanging from a tree, by a small cord tied around his cravat and neck. When witness cut him down he was still warm. The jury returned a verdict of "Died while under temporary insanity."
