In 1851 Josiah Rogers, aged 22, born in Illogan Cornwall, copper miner, was with his widowed mother in Highway, Illogan, Cornwall.
In 1871 Josiah Rogers, aged 41, born in Illogan Cornwall, retired gold miner, and wife Jane, aged 32, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, were living in Illogan Highway, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan): James* (7), scholar, Ellen (5), scholar, Helena (1), Albert L. (1 month), and sister Maria Rogers (46) of Illogan, unmarried, housekeeper.
* This should be Samuel who was the same age. There is no record in the GROE birth index for James, only Samuel.
