In 1871 John Collins, aged 36, born in Stithians Cornwall, tin dresser, and wife Mary A Collins, aged 35, born in Illogan Cornwall, were living in Railway Terrace, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan) Eliza (9), scholar, John H (7), scholar, Emily (3) and Ellen (9 months).

In 1881 John Collins, aged 48, born in Wendron Cornwall, tin dresser, and wife Mary A Collins, aged 45, born in St. Ilogan, were living in St. Illogan. Present were children (born in St. Illogan) Eliza (19), safety fuse maker, John H. (17), carpenter, Emily (13), scholar, Ellen (10), scholar, Henrietta (5), scholar, and William (2).

ILLOGAN HIGHWAY.—The funeral of Mr. John Collins took place on Monday afternoon at Illogan. Deceased having been a member of the "Cornubian" Lodge of Oddfellows, between 20 and 30 members of the Lodge attended, including past grand masters W. Wales, jr., R. Tonkin, Orchard and Chappel. The service at the church was conducted by the Rev. W. Allen, of Pool ; after which the Oddfellows' Burial Service was impressively read by Bro. Wales.
