In 1911 Nicholas Henry Martin, aged 63, born in Stithians, widower, manufacturing, pharmaceutical chemist, surgical and scientific instruments maker, was living at Ravenswood Low Fell Gateshead. With him was daughter Maud Vivian Martin (35) of Gateshead, single.
