In Memoriam

MR. WATERHOUSE KERNICK.

On Friday, November 29, Mr. Waterhouse Kernick, of the Summer Hill Wesleyan Church, Birmingham, fell asleep in Jesus. He was born at St. Ives, Cornwall, in 1829. His grandfather had been a member and leader for twenty-six years. For sixty-five years his father was a member of our Church. The grandfather left six sons and four daughters. All the sons were leaders and local preachers, and one of the daughters was a leader in the St. Ives Society. To godly parents Mr. Kernick was deeply indebted. He was converted when fourteen years of age. For six years he was a member of St. Ives Corporation, and was appointed the first Chairman of its School Board. In 1882 he removed to Birmingham, there being no break in his quiet, unobtrusive, but most valuable Christian work.
