In 1861 John R. Paull, aged 39, born in Camborne Cornwall, solicitor, wife Amelia Paull, aged 32, born in St. Clement Cornwall, and daughters Mary C. Paull (2) and Charlotte Paull (10 mo), were visiting (John's parents) in Roskear, Camborne.
In 1871 John R Paull, aged 45, born in Camborne, attorney, landowner, and wife Amelia, aged 38, born in St. Clements, were in Bosvigo, Kenwyn, Cornwall. With them were children (born in Kenwyn) Mary (also lsted with her grandparents), Charlotte S (10), Emily J (8), James P (7), George R (4) and John R (1). Also staying were John's widowed mother-in-law, Charlotte P. Tom (75) and his unmarried sister-in-law Sophia Tom (41).
In 1881 John R. Paull, aged 59, born in Camborne, solicitor, and wife Caroline [sic] Paull, aged 53, born in St. Clements, were in Bosvigo, Kenwyn. Present were children Mary C. (22), Charlotte S. (20), Amelia L. (18), James P. (17), and John R. (11). Son George R. is boarding in Dorset.

MR JOHN RICHARDS PAULL.
The intelligence of the decease of Mr John Richards Paull, of Bosvigo, solicitor, will be received with regret not only by the inhabitants of Truro but of Cornwall generally. After a long and painful illness, the deceased passed away at half-past three on Wednesday morning in the 60th year of his age. Mr. Paull was the son of the late Mr. James Paull, of Rosewarne, Camborne, and married Amelia, youngest daughter of Mr. Tom, of Rosedale, Truro, by whom he leaves three sons and three daughters. He was admitted at Hilary Term, 1845, and has been in practice in Truro for about 37 years, the greater portion of the time as partner with Mr E Trewbody Carlyon. Mr. Paull was a staunch Conservative, and he has always taken a prominent part in all matters of public interest in Truro and neighbourhood. But it is not only as a public man and a solicitor of sound judgment that Mr Paull will be remembered. He was an intimate friend and confidential adviser in times of trouble and difficulty, and he will live in the hearts and recollections of many as a kind and considerate friend. The deceased was one of the proprietors of the Royal Cornwall Gazette, and amongst the numerous public appointments held by him may be mentioned, the secretaryship of the Truro Waterworks Company, of which he was one of the promoters, and in which he was a large shareholder. He was for many years clerk to the magistrates for the division of West Powder, as well as the division of Tregony. He was a clerk to the Income Tax Commissioners, and one of the Managing Committee of the Truro Savings Bank. He was also a large shareholder in Cornish mines, and other industries of the county such as the brick works at St Day, ochre works, clay works, and clerk to the West Powder Highway Board. The partnership between him and Mr Carlyon was dissolved in July, 1876, since which time, until very recently, when he entered into partnership with Mr Adams, he carried on his business alone. The state of his health for more than twelve months had been such as to give his friends the greatest possible anxiety, and he gradually sank, and, as we have stated, died on Wednesday morning. A large circle of friends will deeply lament the loss of so true-hearted a man, and general sympathy is expressed with the bereaved family in this their great affliction. The funeral will take place at Kenwyn to-morrow (Saturday) at ten o'clock.
