In 1861 William V. Tippet, aged 27, born in St. Philip & St. Jacob, artist, was living at 5 Ashley Road, Bristol St. James and St. Paul, Gloucestershire. With him were his parents and sister Celia (33) of Stapleton Gloucestershire, unmarried, domestic work.

In July 1874 William Vivian Tippet was present at the marriage of his sister Celia Tippet to Charles Harding in All Saints, Bristol.

In 1881 William Vivian Tippet, aged 48, born in Bristol, artist, and wife Emma Tippet, aged 38, born in Fishponds Gloucestershire, were living in Oldbury Road, Stapleton. Present were children (born in Downend Gloucestershire) Sarah Minnie (7), scholar, Annie Vivian (5), scholar, Elizabeth (4), Margaret (3) of Fishponds, Thomas (2) of Fishponds, Lousia Monica (8 months) of Fishpond, brother Charles Vivian Tippet (44) of Bristol, married, carpenter. (William's sister Celia Harding was nextdoor.)

In 1891 William V Tippett, aged 58, born in Bristol, animal painter, and wife Emma Tippett, aged 48, born in Fishponds, were living at 7 Mayfield Pk, Stapleton, Gloucestershire. With them were children Elizabeth (14), scholar, Margaret (13), scholar, Thomas (12), scholar, Lousia M. (10), scholar, and Edward (7), scholar.

In 1901 William V Tippet, aged 68, born in Bristol, and wife Emma Tippet, aged 58, born in Bristol, were living at 19 Downend Road, Stapleton. With them were children Tom (22), solicitor's law clerk, Mona (20), and Edward (17), ironmonger's apprentice.

The death is announced of Mr. W. V. Tippet, a local artist who for a long period was a regular exhibitor at the annual shows of the British Fine Arts Academy. As a landscape painter he was well known, and much interest was taken in his work by reason of the fact that he generally selected local subjects. Some of his pictures of scenes on the River Frome, into which he often introduced groups of cattle, revealed to many for the first time the beauty spots of that small but pretty river. Mr. Tippet had been in failing health for some time. He was 77. Many friends will regret his death, for he was much liked.
