In 1871 James Vivian Tippett, aged 39, born in Westbury Gloster, Lith' artist, and wife Emma M. Tippett, aged 41, born in Ilfracombe Devon, were living at 11 Cornwallis Place, St. Philip & Jacob, Gloucestershire. With them were children Edwd. W. B. (12), scholar, Louisa E. V. (10), and Lucy V. (4).

In 1881 James V. Tippet, aged 49, born in Bristol, lithographic artist, and wife Emma M. Tippet, aged 52, born in Ilfracombe, were living at 11 Cornwallis Place, St. Philip & Jacob, Gloucestershire. Present were children Edward W. (22) of Bristol, lithographic artist, Louisa E. V. (20) of St. Georges Glo'shire, and Lucy M. V. (14) of Bristol.

The Will of James Vivian Tippet late of 11 Cornwallis-place Baptist Mills in the city of Bristol, artist, who died 15 December 1888 at 11 Cornwallis-place, was proved at Bristol 3 January 1889 by Emma Maria Tippet of 11 Cornwallis Place, widow, the relict and sole executrix.
