At Redruth, on the 13th instant, in the prime of life, of consumption, Mr. Philip Richards, leaving a widow and family with a numerous circle of relatives and friends, to lament his loss. This excellent young man held the confidential situation of cashier to T. Teague, Esq. ; and as a man of business acquitted himself with the utmost probity and honour. By his amiable disposition he won the esteem of all ; and his memory will long be held dear by all who were honoured with his acquaintance.

Abstract of the Will of Philip Richards of the Parish of Redruth in the County of Cornwall, Agent, written 6 Aug 1838, proved 27 Mar 1839. 2
Gives to his wife Sarah Bridgman Richards all his property, estate, chattels and effects given to her under her late father's last will and testament. Also gives to his wife his household furniture, utensils, goods, bedding, linen, plate, china, glass, books, pictures, trinkets, wearing apparel and culinary implements.
All the rest of his goods &c he gives and devises to his brother William Richards of Redruth, surgeon, and to his brother-in-law John Teague of Illogan, mine agent, in trust, to permit his wife to receive the interest and profits from his tenements, mines &c for herself and their children Mary Hocking Richards and Elizabeth Teague Richards, until they turn twenty-one or are married.
Appoints his wife Sarah Bridgman Richards sole executrix of his last will and testament.
