Richard Hockin son of William Sincock of Camborne, miller, and Grace (baptismal record)

--------------------------

In 1871 Richard H Sincock, aged 55, born in Camborne Cornwall, retired copper mine agent, and wife Mary E. Sincock, aged 54, born in Plymstock Devon, were living in Tregea, Illogan, Cornwall. With them were children Helena T. (20) of Ballanar Chili, Mary M. (14) of Bella Vista Bolivia, Donald B. (10) of Bella Vista.

In 1873 Richard Hockin Sincock of Redruth, farmer, was co-executor of his father's will. In the same year his wife Mary Elizabeth died, shortly after which he re-married to either Mary Reynolds or Catherine Tiddy. He may be the same Richard Sincock who died in the Redruth district during the June quarter of 1880, aged 65, noting, however, that another Richard Sincock was born in the same year (in Camborne) and had a family in Illogan which appears in the censuses. According to the marriage record of Mary Mercedes Sincock to Edwin Dunkin in 1892, her father Richard Hockin Sincock was deceased.

  Marriage Information:

Richard married Mary Elizabeth Bain, daughter of Donald Bain and Harriett Wise, on 20 Feb 1840 in Illogan, Cornwall. (Mary Elizabeth Bain was christened 16 Jun 1816 in Plymstock, Devon, England and died in 1873 in the Redruth District, Cornwall, aged 56 years.)

  Marriage Notes:

20th inst., at Illogan, Capt. R. Sincock, to Miss M. A.* Bain, of Portreath.

Penzance Gazette, 26 Feb 1840, p. 1

* Should be M. E.
