"It is with much regret that we announce the death of Mrs. Cock, the wife of W. H. Cock, of Gwithian, who passed away after a brief illness, on Friday last. The family of late have had their share of trouble. Mrs. Cock buried her father only about two months ago, and her daughter (Mrs. F. Jory) was laid to rest on New Year's Day. Much sympathy is extended to the family in their sad bereavement. The mortal remains were interred at Gwithian churchyard on Sunday afternoon, when a good many people gathered around to pay their last tribute of respect, as the deceased was well known in the parish. The coffin was of pitch pine, covered with black cloth, with brass furniture. The breastplate bore the following inscription: 'Catherine Jane Cock, died January 17th, 1907, aged 60 years.' The chief mourners were: Mr. W. H. Cock (husband), Miss Cock (daughter), Mrs. Smitheram (daughter), Mr. Tobias Hosking (brother), Mr. T. Hosking (son-in-law), Mrs. T. Hosking (daughter), Mr. C. Cock (son), Mrs. C. Cock (daughter-in-law), Mr. F. Jory (son-in-law), Miss L. Cock (cousin), Miss Harris (niece), Mr. E. Hosking (nephew), Mr. J. Smitheram (son-in-law), Miss A. Hosking (niece), Mr. J. Cock (brother-in-law), Mrs. E. Gilliard (niece), Mr. C. Vivian (brother-in-law), Mrs. Stevens (niece), Master Gorfield Nancarrow, and Master Willie Jory (grandchildren).
