James Hosking of Treve Lane died aged 84 years (burial record). [Note: despite all reports, his actual age was closer to 86.]
"It is with much regret we chronicle the death of the late Mr. James Hosking, of Treeve Lane, who died on Tuesday, 27th November, at the ripe old age of 84 years. His remains were conveyed to St. Gwithian Churchyard for interment on Thursday. The chief mourners were Mr. Tobias Hosking, Treeve Lane (son), Mrs. W. H. Cock, Gwithian (daughter), Mr. W. H. Cock, Gwithian (son-in-law), Miss Cock, Gwithian (grand-daughter), Mr. Charles Cock, Hayle (son-in-law), Mr. A. Rowe, Connor Downs (nephew). The coffin was made of pitchpine with brass furniture, and the breastplate bore the following inscription: 'James Hosking, died Nov. 27th, 1906, aged 84 years.'...." 2
