   Research Notes:

In 1861, John Simons (34) of Hayle, unmarried, clerk to a merchant, was lodging in Porthleven, Sithney with the Mayne family.

In 1871, John Simons (43) of Phillack, Mang. Harboru. Comp., and wife M. A. D. (38) of Shoreham Sussex, were living in Sithney. Present were son Earnest J. M. (2) of Sithney, mother-in-law Elizabeth Mayne (78) of Wendron, sister-in-law Elizabeth Mayne (41) of Bawdsey Sussex.

In 1881, John Simons (53) of Phillack, harbour master, and wife Mary A. D. (48) of Shoreham Sussex, were living in Sithney. Present were children: Cecil R. M. (9) of Porthleven, Hedley W. M. (7) of Porthleven, sister-in-law Elizabeth Mayne (51) of Oxford Haven Suffolk, housekeeper

In 1891, John Simons (63) of Phillack, merchant's agent, and wife Mary A. (58) of Shoreham Sussex, were living in Porthleven. Present was sister-in-law Elizabeth Mayne (61) of Bawdsey Suffolk.

John married Mary Ann Davey MAYNE, daughter of William MAYNE and Elizabeth, on 9 Jan 1864 in St. Bartholomew's Church, Porthleven, Cornwall ¹. (Mary Ann Davey MAYNE was born about 1833 in Shoreham, Sussex, England.)
