THE DEATH of MR. JOHN SIMONS, of PORTHLEVEN, is regretted by all who knew him. He died last week a martyr to indigestion at the age of 65. Mr. Simons was harbour master and manager of Messrs. Harvey and Co's, Porthleven branch, having been associated with the company at Hayle and Camborne previously. He leaves a widow and two sons to mourn his loss. The funeral, which took place on Saturday at Porthleven Cemetery, was largely attended. The employees of the firm, some of whom had served under the deceased for upwards of thirty years, headed the procession carrying beautiful wreaths of flowers which were sent as last tokens of respect and friendship from numerous friends.
