At the time of the 1851 England Census Harriett Pierce, age 40, born in West Hoathly, and husband John Pierce, age 50, born in West Hoathly, labourer, were living in Kecks Cottage, West Hoathly. With them were daughters (born in West Hoathly): Elizabeth (10) and Catharine (8).
