In the 1624 Will of her sister Mary Saunderson of St. Andrews Holborn, widow, Martha Palmer was bequeathed her best gown and petticoat.

In 1633 Martha was bequeathed 10 shillings in her father's Will.

In 1640 Martha was the sole executrix of her husband's nuncupative Will.

The Will of Martha Hampson of the Parish of Broadwell in the County of Oxford, Widow, written 14 Jan 1648/9, proved 6 Apr 1649. 4

In the name of God Amen the Fowerteenth day of January Anno Dni one thousand Six Hundred & Forty Eight I Martha Hampson of Brodwell in the County of Oxon widdow, being sicke in body but of good and perfect memory Thanks bee given to Almighty God for the same Doe make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and Forme Followinge:

First and principally I committ my Soule into the hands of Almighty God etc...

Item. I commend my body to the earth from whence itt came and as touchinge my estate wherewith God hath been pleased to blesse mee with all I give as followeth:

First I give to my eldest sonne Thomas Hampson the somme of Forty pounds of currant English money to bee paid him soe soone as itt may bee raysed after all my debts are paid.

Item. I give to my two youngest children Margarett and Edward all my sheepe to bee disposed of to theire best advantage.

Item. I doe give and bequeath unto my eldest Daughter Martha and to my said two youngest children Margaret and Edward all the rest and residue of my goods, cattle, corne, and Chattles whatsoever (other than my Jewells) equally to bee devided betweene them. And I doe devise all my Jewells unto my said two Daughters Martha and Margaret equally to bee devided betweene them.

Item. I doe give to the parish church of Brodwell the somme of tenn shillings. And to the poore of Brodwell tenn shillings.

Item. I doe give to my servant Prue the somme of Five pounds. And to my servant James Trinder and his wife the somme of Twenty shillings.

Item. I doe make and ordayne my loveing Friends Mr Charles Trinder Mr James Fretherne and Mr Frances Millett my Executors of this my last will and Testament. And I doe give to each of them Forty shillings a peece for theire paynes and care to bee taken in the management of this businesse, and to see my will performed. And my will and meaneing is that my said Executors shall in the First place take care to pay all my inst and due debts before any Legacyes bee paid.

In wittnesse whereof I the said Martha have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare First above written.
