In 1851 Jacob Pearce, aged 20, born in Gwennap Cornwall, unmarried, and brother Isaac Pearce, lead ore miners, were visiting William Mattinson in Low Caldbeck, Cumberland.
In 1861 Jacob Pearce, aged 30, born in Cornwall, iron ore miner, and wife Margaret, aged 32, born in Scotland, were living in Cleator Moor, Cleator, Cumberland. With them were children (born in Goldbeck Cumberland) Jacob (6), scholar, and James (4), scholar.
In 1871 Jacob Pearce, aged 39, born in Lannar Cornwall, iron ore miner, and wife Margaret, aged 46, born in Scotland, were living in Brick Row, Pennington, Lancashire. With them were sons (born in Caldbeck Cumb.) Jacob (16), iron ore miner, and James (14), grocer's apprentice.
