In 1826 John Hawke son of William Hawke deceased was a beneficiary of the will of his grandfather John Hawke of St. Issey, carpenter.

In 1851 John Hawke, aged 35, born in Cripplegate Middlesex, master hatter, and wife Martha Hawke, aged 32, born in London City, were living at 25 Church Street, Peckham, St. Giles, Camberwell, Surrey. With them were children Martha (7) of London City, scholar at home, Eliza (5) of London City, scholar at home, and Thirza (1) of Cripplegate.

In 1861 John Hawke, aged 45, born in City of London, hat maker, and wife Martha Hawke, aged 42, born in City of London, were living at 25 Church Street, Peckham, St. Giles, Camberwell, Surrey. With them were children Martha (17) of City of London, Thirza (11) of City of London, scholar, Francis A. (7) of City of London, scholar, Ann (5) of Camberwell Surrey, and Alexander W.
