"BENNETTS.On the 8th December, at Kadina, after a long and painful illness, Richard Bennetts, aged 68 years and 7 months. Also, on August 4, Mary, wife of the above, of paralysis, aged 62 years, leaving three sons, five daughters, and nine grandchildren to mourn their sad loss.
Lonely the house, and sad our hearts.
Now our dear ones are gone;
But, oh, a brighter home than ours
In heaven is now their own.

"Mr. Richard Bennetts, died at his residence, Wallaroo Mines, on Saturday, after a protracted illness. The deceased, who lost his wife last August, was a colonist of over 40 years. He left a grown-up family of seven children."
