Edward Casimir enlisted into the Australian Army, as a Private, on 6 Oct 1916. He went to Europe. He and his brother, Louis, were due to rendezvous toward the end of May, 1917. Louis was killed about a week before the meeting took place.
Edward was discharged from duty 5 Sep 1919 and returned to civilian life as an employee of New South Wales Railways. He later became Stationmaster at several locations including Matong, Grong Grong in the NSW riverina area, and Valley Heights in the Blue Mountains.
