Prior to the outbreak of WWI, Louis Augustus Casimir lived at Market street, Mudgee NSW and he was a Bootmaker. He enlisted on 2nd May, 1916 as a Private (Number 2394) in the Australian Army's 53rd Battallion. He was killed in action at Bullecourt France on Sunday, 20th May, 1917. He was 25 years of age. There is a memorial to Louis Augustus Casimir at the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Somme, France; The Australian War Memorial Canberra and the WWI War Memorial in WWI Mudgee. 2
