"Sioux Falls Marjorie A. Rhone, 83, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls with the family present from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at East Side Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
Marjorie Ann Simenson, the daughter of Melvin and Laura (VanGerud) Simenson was born July 30, 1924 in Fargo, ND. As a girl, she moved with her family to Kindred, ND where she was educated.
She married Harold F. Rhone in Moorhead, MN and lived in Heron Lake, MN until moving to Sioux Falls, in 1952.
Marjorie was a member of East Side Lutheran Church and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she served as a choir member and held various offices.
Marjorie was an accomplished seamstress whose joy was making quilts for family and friends. She also enjoyed cake decorating and created many beautiful wedding and birthday cakes over the years.
Grateful for having shared her life are a son, John (Julie) of Harrisburg, SD; three daughters, Sandra (David) Rivet of Harrisburg, SD, Cheryl Loban of Sioux Falls, Teri (Glenn) Ellerbe of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Rhone of Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Anderson, Jeff (Kelly) Rhone, Michael (Kayleen) Hite, Jesse Rhone, Amy Christy, Kristina Knutson, Brian Loban, Jason Loban; and seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Christy, Quentin Anderson, Andrew Christy, Carter Anderson, Abbey Rhone, Landon Rhone, Kelton Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gary; and a great-grandson, Kalvin...." 2
