"Kenneth R. Vivian

MICHGAMME—Kenneth R. Vivian, 65, of HCR 1, Box 329, Michigamme, died Saturday morning, August 3, 1996, at his home following a one and a half year illness.

He was born June 12, 1931 in Marquette, the son of the late Roland and Margaret (Miller) Vivian. He was a lifelong Marquette resident, moving to his cottage on Petticoat Lake near Michigamme when he retired in 1991. He spent his winters at Casa del Valle in Alamo, TX.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. Knapp. Following his discharge from the Navy, he resided in Milwaukee, WI for 3 years, returning to the Upper Peninsula in September of 1957. He was employed by the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad for 30 years, including 10 years as Yardmaster at the Eagle Mills Location, and later as a Conductor-Engineer until his retirement in June of 1991.

He was a member of the Richard Jopling Post #44 of the American Legion, Marquette Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #405, and a former member of the Marquette Moose Lodge. He joined the United Transportation Union Retirement Association upon his retirement in 1991.

He enjoyed camping, bowling, trout fishing and was an excellent pool player.

Ken is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie (Steinberger) Vivian whom he married on his birthday, June 12, 1954; his son, Rod (Linda) Vivian of Marquette and his 3 children, Nicholas, April and Crystal; his 4 daughters Deborah Reed of Hurst of Hurst, TX and her son, Freddy; Vicki (Scott) Campbell of Rowlett, TX and son, William; Cheri (Ray) Liubakka of Marquette and their 3 children, Alyssa, Kimberly and Katelyn; Kelley Noble of Dallas, TX; 2 sisters, Joan Stichmann and Pam (Steve) Kuehn, both of Milwaukee, WI; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Karen (Tom) Ladwig of Brown Deer, WI...." ⁵
