  Research Notes:

In 1861 Richard Hooper, aged 25, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, tin & copper miner, and wife Peggy, aged 25, born in Perranzabuloe Cornwall, were living in Whitstreet, St. Agnes. With them were sons (born in St. Agnes) Thomas (1) and Richard (5 mos). Richard's brothers Samuel Hooper and John Hooper and their families were also living in Whitstreet.

Not with his family at the time of the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses.

In 1901 Richard Hooper, aged 65, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, living on own means, and wife Peggy, aged 65, born in Perranzabuloe Cornwall, were in Vicarage Road, St. Agnes.

Richard married Peggy Mitchell, daughter of John Mitchell and Jennifer, in 1857 in the Truro District, Cornwall. (Peggy Mitchell was christened 7 Jun 1835 in Perranzabuloe, Cornwall and was buried on 14 Jan 1928 in Stile Field Cemetery, St. Agnes, Cornwall, aged 92 years.)
