In 1851 William Hooper, aged 29, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, tin & copper miner, and wife Jane, aged 24, born in St. Agnes, were living in New Road, Illogan Cornwall. With them was son William (5) of St. Agnes, scholar.

In 1861 William Hooper, aged 39, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, copper miner, and wife Jane, aged 34, born in St. Agnes, were living in Buller's Row, Redruth. With them were children William (15) of St. Agnes, copper miner, and Jane (8) of Illogan, scholar.

In 1871 William Hooper, aged 49, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, mine agent (surface), and wife Jane, aged 44, born in St. Agnes, were living in Buller's Row, Redruth. With them were children William (25) of St. Agnes, unmarried, miner, and Jane (18) of Illogan, unmarried, dress maker.
