"Mrs. Lillian E. Palamountain, of Peake has been notified that her husband, LAC Max Temby Palamountain, 23, lost his life on February 4, as the result of an air operation. LAC Palamountain was the third son of Mr. and Mrs W. A. Palamountain, of Murray Bridge, and formerly of Mt Gambier and Peake. His brother, Bill, is serving in the RAN."

Mr. Ken Palamountain, of Kongorong, has received word that his brother, Leading Aircraftsman Max Temby Palamountain, has been killed in action. He was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Palamountain, of Murray Bridge, and received his education at Moorak School and the Mount Gambier High School. He had been in the R.A A.F. two years, and was stationed somewhere in Australia. L.A.C. Palamountain was 23 years of age, and 12 months ago he married Miss Wray, of Peake." 4 5
