"Death of Mr. William Butler,—The many friends of Mr. William Butler, 'lateof Fernleigh, in the South-East, regretted to hear of his death, which occurred at the Semaphore, near Adelaide, on October 17, at the age of 79 years. Mr. Butler had a lengthy residence in the state, following business pursuits in Adelaide and elsewhere. He carried on in Narracoorte for many years the business of a general storekeeper, and afterwards took up a large quantity of country with his sons between Lucindale and Robe, and formed the Fernleigh station, where he carried on grazing pursuits successfully for a number of years. About three years ago he sold out and went to reside near Adelaide with Mrs. Butler, who predeceased him abont twelve months ago. Mr. Butler was held in high esteem as a business man, and it was recognised that his word was his bond. Mrs. D. A. Fullerton, of Rynabruach, Penola, is a daughter of the deceased gentleman, and the other members of the family are all grown up." 5
