MR. W. VIVIAN, CAMBORNE.
The death occurred at Trevenson-street, Camborne, on Monday, of Mr. William Vivian, at the age of 85.
In his early days he was a miner at Dolcoath but for years he carried on a business in Market Square as a shipping agent, and later as an auctioneer at Trevenson-street.
During his mining career he represented the workers, and later the mine at two Royal Commissions held in London on the subject of mining royalties.
He took a keen interest in public affairs and was appointed a county magistrate, although ill-health prevented him from service in this capacity in recent years.
For seventeen years he served on Camborne Urban Council, of which he was a former chairman. He was also a member of the Burial Board and the Old-age Pensions Committee.
For over 70 years he was associated with Centenary Methodist Church, and had filled the offices of trustee, society steward, and Sunday-school superintendent.
