In 1828, Matilda was a witness at the marriage of her uncle Roger Pepperell to Ann Blatch.

In 1841, Matilda Langmead (30) and husband Edward Langmead (30), ag lab, were living in North Pool, South Pool, Devon. Present were sons Charles (7), Thomas (2), John (7 months). Son Robert (10), ag. lab., was nextdoor.

In 1861, Matilda Langmead (52) of Slapton and husband Edward B. Langmead (55) of South Brent, ag lab., were living in Chillington Stokenham. Present were children: Charles (27) of Asprington, quarry man, John (20) of South Pool, S. Sailor, Anne Hyne (18) of South Pool, dressmaker
