In 1851 Rachel Davis, aged 20, born in Great Bedwin was with her parents in Farm Lane, Chieveley, Tything of Leckhampstead, Berkshire.

In 1861 Rachel Keep, aged 29, born in Grafton Wilts* and husband John Keep, aged 28, born in Leckhampstead Berks, lock shuter?, were living in Greenham Berks. Present were children (born in Leckhampstead): Mary Jane (8), scholar, Willm. (6), scholar

* Rachel spent her early years in Grafton Wilts.
Mary Jane, shown as aged 8 in 1861 and 19 in 1871, was born before her father John Keep married Rachel Davis in 1854; however, John was single in 1851 and does not appear to have had a previous marriage.
