Abstract of the Will of Robert Lloyd of Brunhir in the parish of Trawsfynydd and county of Merioneth, Gent., written 30 Mar 1650, proved 28 Jun 1650. 2

Gives and bequeaths a noble to be distributed yearly at Easter to the poor of the parish of Trawsfynydd by his eldest son John Lloyd.

Gives and bequeaths £120 to his five younger sons and the child unborn, to be equally divided between them and paid by his eldest son John Lloyd and heir out of his marriage portion; viz. £20 to his son Evan Lloyd, £20 to his son Ellis Lloyd, £20 to his son David Lloyd, £20 to his son William Lloyd, £20 to his son Griffith Lloyd, and to the child as yet born £20. And if his eldest son John Lloyd does not make the said payment, then he wills that his younger sons and their overseers may enter the premisses called Brinhir and all the rest of his lands (except his wife's jointure), viz. Tû-yn-drayn, Mirie-Bûchain, Brin-r-wy and the Fried to have, hold and enjoy the same until their portions are satisfied.

Gives and bequeaths £100 to his eldest daughter Margaret Lloyd (if she marries with the consent of the overseers of his will), to be paid to her as follows: £40 by his brother-in-law Richard ap John Vaughan which £40 was from his father-in-law John Morgan Vaughan deceased; £10 a year over six years out of Tû-yn-y-drain and Merry-Buchain.

Gives and bequeaths £44 to his youngest daughter Anne Lloyd, money due to him from David John Vaughan, to be paid to her as follows: £10 per annum out of Tu-yn-y-drain and Merry-Buchain over four years...

Gives and bequeaths to his eldest son John Lloyd and his heirs his lands, tenements and hereditaments abovenamed. And in default of such issue, he gives and bequeaths the same to his son Evan Lloyd and his heirs; and in default of such issue, to his son David Lloyd and his heirs; and in default of such issue, to his son William Lloyd and his heirs; and in default of such issue, to his son Griffith Lloyd and his heirs; and in default of such issue, to his eldest daughter Margaret Lloyd and her heirs; and in default of such issue, to his youngest daughter Anne Lloyd and her heirs....

Constitutes and appoints his eldest son John Lloyd and his wife Gwen vch. John Vaughan co-executors of his last will and testament.

Gives and bequeaths £57 to his brother David Lloyd's children.

Gives and bequeaths £20 to Elis ap Hugh ap Morgan.

Gives and bequeaths £40 to Elis ap Hugh Morgans son-in-law.

Gives and bequeaths £10 to John Griffith.

Gives and bequeaths 25 shillings to Maurice William.

Debts owed to the testator: Lewis Rowland 5 shillings, Eliza: ap Edward Evan £4 10s., John Thomas John 16s. 8d., Thomas Baker 10s. 8d., Captain John Brinker 10s., his brother Evan £23 10s.

Leaves to his natural son Hugh Lloyd £12 to be paid to him by Hugh ap John.... Gives to the said Hugh £1 5s. due to him from John Lewis of Cay-adda.

Lastly he nominates his cousin John Wynne of Rhiw-Goch, his uncle Griffith Lloyd, his uncle Lewis Nanney, his cousin Ellis John ap Hugh, and Ellis Jones, overseers of his last will and testament.

Witnesses: Evan Lloyd, Rowland Lloyd, Robert Lloyd, Evan ap Eliza:, William Prichard.

"The presumably early death of Robert Lloyd may be related to fighting in the Civil War.... John Brinker (Brynkir), whose name is also mentioned in the will, is recorded in the Civil War context." 1
