In 1911 Edward Manhire (30) of Camborne, hotel keeper, and wife of 10 years Adaline (31) of Camborne (mother of 2 children) were living in Treswithian Camborne. With them were children: Hilda M (10) of Camborne, school, Gordon (3) of America.
In 1939 Edward Manhire (b. 4 Sep 1880), licensed victualler, and wife Adaline (b. 13 Mar 1879) were living in Treswithian Camborne. With them was daughter Hilda M Manhire (b. 26 Apr 1901), single.
"When the fifty-six licensees of East Penwith Division applied at Camborne Court on Tuesday for a summer extension of drinking hours until 10.30 p.m. on weekdays, seven objectors appeared from the general public ....
Mr Edward Manhire, of the "Three Cornish Choughs," at Treswithian, supported the application. He represented the 56 licencees of the division. He wanted the extension particularly from the agricultural point of view. He met heavy demand for the extra halfhour both from local customers and tourists....
