A Peter Collins was christened in Stithians, 29 Aug 1790, son of James & Mary.

A Peter Collins was christened in St. Teath, 19 Dec 1790, son of Edward & Ann.


Peter probably first married to Emma or Amey about 1810 and had children in Camborne: James (1811), Francis (1812), Emma (1815), Catherine (1817). From 1818 onward, the mother of Peter's children was Mary [Bawden]. Daughter Emma (above) married Samuel Baxter in 1851 and again to Michael Hawke in 1862.


In 1841, Peter Collins (50), copper miner, was living in Gas St., Camborne. Present were children: William (20), copper miner, Jane (15), Maryann (12), Joseph (10), Edward (8), John (6), Catherine (4)


Peter Collins died during either the 2nd QTR 1845 or 3rd QTR 1848. In the marriage record of his daughter Mary Ann in 1848, he is shown as deceased.

Peter married Mary BAWDEN, daughter of William BAWDEN and Jenefer (Jane) SWAINE, on 29 Apr 1818 in Camborne, Cornwall. (Mary BAWDEN was born in 1796 in Camborne, Cornwall, christened on 22 Aug 1796 in Camborne, Cornwall and died between Jan 1839 and Mar 1839 in Camborne, Cornwall.)

Note: There were only two Mary Bawdens born within the requisite time period in Camborne, both daughters of William and Jenefer Bawden. Not that Peter and Mary's second daughter was named Jenny (called Jane in the Censuses), which was Mary's mother's name (Jenifer/Jane).
