In 1851, William Rule (19) of St. Day, unmarried, copper miner, was lodging with widow Mary Smith in Chapel St. ,Camborne.

In 1861, William Rule (30) of Gwennap, unmarried, was lodging with [his uncle] John Bawden, tailor, in Chapel St., Camborne.

In 1871, William Rule (39) of Camborne [sic], engine driver, and wife Margaret (30) of Camborne, were living in Trevenson Terrace, Camborne. Present was son John H. (2m) of Camborne.

Named as a beneficiary in and co-executor of the will of his uncle John Bawden (written 1879, proved 1884).

In 1881, William Rule (49) of Gwennap, engine driver, and wife Marg. (40) of Camborne, were living in 3 Camborne Vear Terrace, Camborne. Present was son Jno. Hy. (10) of Camborne, scholar

In 1891, William Rule (59) of Gwennap, retired tin mine engine driver, and wife Margaret D. (50) of Camborne, were living in 17 Trevenson St., Camborne. With them was son John H. (21), carpenter & joiner

William married Margaret Dean NETTLE, daughter of Matthew NETTLE and Susan DEAN, between Apr 1870 and Jun 1870 in Redruth District, Cornwall. (Margaret Dean NETTLE was born between Apr 1840 and Jun 1840 in Camborne, Cornwall and died between Jan 1910 and Mar 1910 in Redruth District, Cornwall.)
