Étiennette
- Born: Abt 1035, Bourgogne, France
- Married: Between 1049 and 1057
- Died: 30 Jun 1109, Bourgogne, France
Research Notes:
Szabolcs de Vajay demonstrates that his earlier hypothesis concerning a Lotharingian origin of Etiennette is incorrect. According to Père Anselme, she was the daughter of Berenguer Ramón I "el Curvo" Conde de Barcelona, but there appears to be no contemporary documentation on which this is based. Settipani suggests that Etiennette may have been the daughter of Bernard [II] Comte de Bigorre & his first wife Clémence, based solely on onomastics, but the possible motivation for a marriage between these two families is not obvious. 1
Marriage Information:
Étiennette married Guillaume I "le Grand", comte de Bourgogne, son of Renaud de Mâcon, comte de Bourgogne, and Adelais de Normandie, comtesse de Bourgogne, between 1049 and 1057. (Guillaume I "le Grand", comte de Bourgogne was born in Bourgogne, France and died on 12 Nov 1087 in Bourgogne, France.)
