"Carlyle A. Blackbourn, age 92, of Prairie du Chien, died on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Prairie du Chien Hospital.
He was born on April 20, 1915, at Beetown Township, the son of Raleigh A. and Edith (Snider) Blackbourn. On December 10, 1936, Carlyle was united in marriage to Lulu Mae Pascoe at Galena, IL. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Bagley. After selling his farm, Carlyle was employed as a carpenter. He purchased a shoe store in Bloomington in 1964, until he sold and retired in 1968. In later years, they moved to Prairie du Chien.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lulu Mae of Prairie du Chien; his children: Gloria Gilbert, Queen Creek AZ; Connie (Charles) Walling, Tempe, AZ; Dixie "Kay" (Dennis) Breuer, Wabasha, MN; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Carlyle was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Robyn Yonker in 1981, a great grandson, Terrell Breuer in 1993, a great granddaughter, Amelia Breuer, a son-in-law, Dean Gilbert, and his brothers, Lawrence and Ivan...." 2
