In 1911 Bessie B Rickard, aged 28, born in Kenwyn Cornwall (mother of 2 children), and husband of 8 years James Rickard, aged 33, born in Perranzabuloe Cornwall, tin miner, were living in Silverwell, Scorrier, Cornwall. With them were sons Percy (7) of St. Agnes, school, and Evelyn C. (5) of Perranzabuloe, school. The names and details of James's parents—William Rickard (70) and Catherine Rickard (74)—were also recorded at the address, but crossed out.

In 1921 Bessie B Rickard, aged 37 years 9 months, born in Kenwyn, household duties, and husband James Rickard, aged 44 years, born in Perranzabuloe, tin miner at Wheal Kitty mine, were living in Silverwell, Scorrier. With them were sons Percy (18y 1m) of St. Agnes, farm labourer, and Cecil (15y 2m) of Perranzabuloe, farm labourer.
