In 1934 Ernest Cock, chauffeur, was left £100 in the will of his employer Lieut.-Col. Josiah Telfer Thomas, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., J.P...., retired medical practitioner, as well as an annuity of £52 if he should remain in the employ of the doctor's wife. 4

In the 1939 Register Ernest E Cock (b. 21 Aug 1868), widowed, retired chauffeur, was living at 5 Victoria Street, Camborne Cornwall. At the same address was (son) Edwin D Cock (b. 22 Sep 1891), private gardener.

The funeral of Mr. Ernest Edward Cock, aged 86, of 5, Victoria-street, Camborne, took place at Camborne Parish Church on Monday, the Rev. D. A. Woods officiating. For 43 years Mr Cock had been coachman and then chauffeur to the late Dr Telfer Thomas. Mourners were Mr E. Cock (son), Messrs. J. Woodthorpe, A. Cock, T., H., P. and H. Warren, F. Clifton (nephews) ....
