"Mae, 87, died at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mae was born to Everett & Sophia (Gratz) Thomas. She worked for the Rock County Courthouse as a secretary for 20 years retiring in 1983. Mae married James Humbert on Sept. 20, 1943, in Belmont. James died in 1982. Mae then married John "Jack" Ross in 1986. Jack died in 1986. Mae loved crossword puzzles and reading. Mae also enjoyed traveling and her family. She was a member of the Waldwick United Methodist Church in Waldwick and she also attended the Cargill United Methodist Church in Janesville. She was preceded in death along with her parents; by her husbands, James Humbert and Jack Ross; and three brothers, Donald Thomas, Jack Thomas and Jerrold Thomas. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Werner of Payson, AZ, Mary (Jim) Harpold of South Haven, MI, Vicki (Gary) Gransee of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Susan (Steve) Roeber of Milton, WI; a sister, Dorothy Iverson of Payson, AZ; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild also survives...." 2
